Culinary Lavender

At Big Blue Farmhouse we specialize in growing culinary lavender.   Admirers of lavender look at the plant and think it is just a pretty flower without realizing that this little evergreen is actually a herb.  Lavender is a member of the mint family and relative of the more commonly known herb,  Rosemary.

Lavandula angustifoila ( English Lavender or true Lavender) is cultivated for culinary uses.  Having a lot less oil than aromatic lavender used for oils or body products. English Lavender varieties marries well for teas, herbs blends for cooking, sweets and savoury dishes.  


We will have our culinary lavender available for chefs, bakeries and the public.
